Abstract:

Western Macedonia is located within a seismically active zone of the Balkan Peninsula, characterized by complex geological, tectonic and seismotectonic area of active intra-plate tectonics and history of moderate to strong earthquakes. The identification of potential areas prone to geohazards is therefore essential for seismic hazard assessment, land-use planning, and risk mitigation. This study uses seismic data to delineate potential geohazard areas through spatial and statistical analysis.
